Fixing issues with your embroidery machine will save you money and down time in your shop. Learning the working parts will help you repair your machine yourself and/or help describe the issue that needs attention from a technician. (We do not recommend anyone working on their machine if you do not feel comfortable. It is always best to check with a technician before attempting major repairs.)

Machine parts will need attention from time to time on your machine. Below are the six parts where we lay out the problem(s) and the solutions to fix the problem.

1. Rotary Hook

Problem

Thread fraying and/or breaking, missing stitches, bird nesting?

Solution

Could be burrs on the rotary hook.



2. Hook Timing

Thread fraying and/or breaking, missing stitches, bird nesting?

Solution

Could be burrs on the rotary hook.



3. The Wiper

Problem

Seeing wiper error on screen, getting stuck in the wrong position, not grabbing thread or thread is too long?

Solution

Check your wiper and check the position of the Velcro bar - may need to be adjusted and/or replaced.



4. The Picker

Problem

Threads cut too short, pulls out of needle or birds nesting?

Solution

Check the picker - make sure the picker is not bent.



5. The Trimmers

Problem

Not cutting thread or cutting thread too short?

Solution

Check trimmer position when closed.



6. The Presser Foot

Flagging material, looped stitches?

Solution

Check trimmer position when closed.
